Meet Kathryn Walker, LCSW

Hi! I’m Kathryn, a psychotherapist that specializes and works exclusively with preschoolers to teenagers & those that care for them. I founded Building Blocks Therapy after working with children for over a decade and wanting to create a safe space for children and their families that provided inclusive support all in one space. Being a parent myself, I understand the mental load that parenting takes and when your child, or you, are struggling the last thing you want to do is be a case manager for all the providers in your life.

Kathryn is a licensed clinical social worker with fifteen years of experience working exclusively with children and their families. Kathryn graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with her MSW and completed her training at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia dept. of psychiatry, working primarily in the young child clinic.

Kathryn moved to San Diego where she continued working with young children and their families, this time with the vulnerable population of children in the foster care system.

Kathryn started her private practice in the beautiful city of Encinitas, CA where her work focused on helping young children with anxiety, depression, ocd, adhd, and other behavioral concerns. Kathryn moved back to the east coast with her husband, three kids and two dogs and settled in Fairfield County.
