How does working with Building Blocks Therapy look?

Consultation: To start, we will have a 15 minute free consultation call to see if we are a good fit to work together.

Intake: If we both decide it’s a good fit and to move forward, we will conduct an intake session. Here we will discuss what brings you and/or your child to therapy, background information, and goals for therapy.

Individual Therapy Sessions: After the intake we will schedule weekly or bi weekly in person sessions for therapy sessions.

How am I involved in my child's therapy?

When working with children it is so important to always include the parents and guardians. Think of your therapist as a member of your team. That is why we hold parenting sessions every 2-6 weeks pending on various factors such as home stressors, behaviors, diagnosis, etc. We also encourage family sessions when the client is ready for them.

What do you treat in therapy?

We have extensive experience working with children and adolescents and their families and parents. We have worked with children diagnosed with ADHD, Anxiety, OCD, ODD, Depression, family and peer conflicts, Adjustment Disorders related to changes in environments like parent’s divorces, behavioral challenges, peer issues and school behavior problems.

We are out of network (OON) providers. We do not accept insurance, but our on staff biller will check your OON benefits via your insurance, and if possible bill your insurance directly through your OON benefits. If that is not possible, we will do complimentary billing, which means our biller will submit your super bill receipts on your behalf to make the potential reimbursement process easier for you. We reccoment always contacting your insurance directly to learn your OON deductible

Can I use my insurance?

Why don't you accept insurance?

5

Great question! By not being in network with insurance, it allows us to keep our caseloads intentionally small so we can provide the whole family wrap around services that we are well known for. You and your family get more support, which often leads to shorter time in treatment. We also do not have to provide a diagnosis just for the sake of getting payment from insurance; and we are not limited to specific treatment protocols dictated by insurance providers. We can be more intentional and dedicated during our time working together.
